You can add an exciter wire to the 2wire plug-in, no.1 is excite term no.2 is voltage sense. Add a wire to no. 1 run into cab, by momentarily ground wire alt will start charging. Or you can add a resistor inside of alt to help turn on faster. There are several ways that will help.

I would put a volt meter at alternator and see if voltage increases after starting. With load of lights and Horn at alternator amp meter should not show discharge if alternator is changing, should be around 6.6 to 7 volts with a fully charged battery at fast idle.

I love my 6 volt positive ground alternator, turn the key mash on the floor ready to go. I use a inverter 6 to 12 to run radio or anything else that's 12volt. I guess it's how you use your car, all year like I do or once in awhile. All will work if used right.

I built a 6 volt positive ground 10si . Installing was easy, built my own bracket and was able to use original belt and wire. I like it better for everyday driving. I painted alternator black to help blend in. It's what ever you like. Some like chocolate some like vanilla both make you fat.

I bought a scissor lift from Harbor Freight, my son uses it for body work. Look on YouTube for the reviews on the lift. It will work good for service, oil and lube, tire replacement. This lift is a good buy.
