Aftermarket Mechanical Temp Gauge Hookup Location

I drilled and tapped the water neck on the raised boss just to the front of the thermostat. Everyone said the gauge would go up and down as the thermostat opened and closed, but that has not happened. I have done 2 T-Birds like this and both show the temp way before the stock temp gauge even...

    56 TBird

You will also need the water pump spacer, so you have room for the generator. Get the modified water pump from the T-Bird suppliers with the bigger impeller, and a high flow thermostat. These solve most of the overheating issues Birds have.

    1956 T-Bird Fuel Pump

I know it's been covered to death, but here is my issue. I have 2 fuel pumps, one has number 2413 stamped on it, and the other which came with my 56 bird has number 4206 stamped on it. The 4206 pump has the bigger bottom on it though they look like they would interchange as the bodies and pump...

I bought a 4 post drive on Advantage lift. Where I worked they have 2 post lifts, and at my age getting down on the floor to set the arms and getting back up is not easy. I also bought the rolling bridge, and the rolling air over hydraulic jack. I can lift the car to do brake work or change...

56 T Bird dual Master gets Hot

I was looking at a friends 81 Corvette just after he drove over to my house. We opened the hood and his master cylinder was so hot I couldn't keep my hand on it without getting burned. So maybe mine is OK. I will check the timing, and have been thinking about making a heat shield for the...

56 T Bird dual Master gets Hot

I believe I have the correct exhaust manifolds, but will check, I have a Mallory Unilite distributor with no vacuum advance, and the 57 intake manifold with a Holley 4bbl carb. I will check the timing, that may be the problem, thanks.

56 T Bird dual Master gets Hot

I converted my 56 Bird to a dual master using a 67 Mustang drum drum master. After driving my Bird with the new Mustang dual master I have found that it gets very hot. The dual master is a lot closer to the exhaust manifold that the stock one was, and it gets so hot you don't want to touch it...
