Thanks alchemy
I had read something about the side shims and new gear not fitting and low and behold even using the existing ones it's too tight!!!! I'm taking them to a machine shop tomorrow to have them ground to the proper sizing!!!!
I am in the process of rebuilding the steering box for my 40 truck. I am looking for advice on the process to peen or swag the ends of the pin holding the gear in place???
My original interior cardboard panels were green. The only kit that i have found and purchased is the all black one from Dennis Carpenter (Midwest ford) !!!
Has anyone painted this material with any success vs leaving it black?????
1940 pickup
Is there any other source for these parts besides Howell's????
I am needing the same pieces for my 40 truck!!!!!
Being in Canada i am very hesitant to order them from Howell's plus having them shipped to our friends in Detroit!!!!
Thanks Tim
Great information about the bearings!!!
Do you have a video or write up about the polishing process???
If not, what scotchbrite pads used ???
How did you insure that the bearing thickness was even!
Thanks
Tim
