I have a 39 standard that the oil line return goes into a special bolt on the fuel pump mount. However it has an oil leak between the fuel pump mount and the intake manifold.
It changed in mid 49 from the 48-early 49 bed with a metal cover over the wood to the 50 style bed with wood and metal strips. The bed sides and rear fenders are different between the two styles.
I don't think the original location is too big a hazard as it is not the full width of the cab. Some of the later trucks had tanks that extended to the sides of the cab.
I have an 8BA engine that came out of a 49 F5 truck that had a 4 speed transmission. In addition to the 3" thick cast iron bellhousing there is a 1" thick cast iron spacer between the bellhousing and block. Is this spacer for a particular clutch or flywheel?

It takes a punch slightly less in diameter than the OD of the bushing ( so it will slip through) and either a press or a big hammer. They can be a pain.
I have (2) 50 rear ends laying here, but they are in Virginia. I installed a 9" from an 57 F100 in mine. It was a direct bolt in other than adding shims for the pinion angle and adding the 57 crossmember for the shocks. I don't know how many miles were on the 57 with a 223 6 cyl, but the ring...
