Not quite that fast but I tried.:D

You can raise it some and not have to modify the firewall. It's not perfectly straight but it has worked well for many years.

I actually built a Heath kit capacitor checker about 35 years ago. I enjoyed building it but never put it to use.

Notice the inside of the cap. I'm told the repro capes have a raised area from the coil nipple to the center contact. That raised area breaks the rare rotor.

The only place that I can find it on my relatively early frame is inside of the firewall foot bolts. It can still be seen with the firewall mounted. I've looked for it under the body farther back but I don't see anything.
