    Trailer winch

I have a small Warn in my trailer. 2000 lb capacity, I think. Maybe one size bigger? You don't need 10k lbs to roll a car into the trailer. Consider a synthetic cable instead of metal, if your installation won't drag the cable over abrasive parts of the trailer. You'll also need a battery if...

    Stupid, ... or Smart?

You could have it analyzed. Probably about $40. One-time investment to see if it's still useable.

    Car Tie Down in Trailer

I'll third the use of wheel nets. I put down E Track so I can move the attachment points as needed.

Is a Restoration In Your Future?

I'm referring to it as a rehab. I have a family car, purchased in the'40s by my mom's great uncle. It's a basket case, but still solid. And I got the engine started a few weekends ago. It last ran in 1990. Anyway, I want to basically restore the running gear to make it safe to drive. I'll decide...

iPhone App to Track Maintenance, Fuel Ups, Etc.

I don't think it exists for iPhone, (sorry, but it might help someone else reading this thread), but I use an android app called My Cars. It does pretty much everything you want, except you have to periodically manually backup the data. No automatic sync. I've been using it since 2011.

What Defines Over-Revving The Model A's Engine

Windage is the resistance from the air/oil mist that gets churned up in the crankcase. Think about the air being moved inside the crankcase by the pistons going up and down, and the oil draining back from the block passing though this turbulent atmosphere. And then you have the oil in the pan...

    Misnomer - Front Engine Support

Where did the 30 lb/in come from? I agree with your first number,120 lb/in.

    Misnomer - Front Engine Support

If I am reading the drawing correctly, the unloaded spring is 1-5/8" - 1-11/16" long. 60 lbs will compress it to 1-1/8". So the spring rate is 107-120 lb/in?
