The Terry Burtz 5 main bearing engine blocks are back on track.

Terry we are in the process of starting the clean up of the blocks for the 5 motors we purchased for here in OKC. With all this heat a little Christmas in July goes a long way. We so enjoyed meeting you and all your crew in Kerrville and would like to say thanks again for the tenacity to see...

The Terry Burtz 5 main bearing engine blocks are back on track.

If you happened to find yourself in Kerrville and were able to put your hands on all of this new old technology you would immediately appreciate the engineering along with what is obvious to those that have followed this since 2007 the blood sweat and tears that have gone into bringing all this...

    Model B Carb Issues

So as one of my Covid-19 therapy projects I rebuilt and restored 2 Model B Zenith Carbs. I actually really like them. They run and idle well and the transverse mounted float helps with stalling at sudden stops. Both of these perform almost the same and both have the same quirk. From start to...

Cap and Comp Jet Helicoil repair

Finally heard back for Steve at Bert's at as I was afraid they did not have a resource for the 5mm .75 helicoil for the repair. Because there is no way access the passage for the secondary well you cannot simply fill and retap. I had another old Zenith bottom that I tested using a 5mm .8...

Cap and Comp Jet Helicoil repair

I use the tap all the time to chase threads I have used it for years. The challenge is the threads are worn away and even cleaning up what's there isn't enough to hold the jets. All I can find is a 5mm .08 helicoil and not .75.

Cap and Comp Jet Helicoil repair

Both of these are 5mm 75 pitch threads. Checked local auto parts and no luck there. Trying to repair Zenith 3 bottom that I found in a box at an antique store. All I can find is M5 .08.

    Stubborn Zenith

I spent Sunday afternoon going through things again. Changed the idle jet, Changed the secondary well, and put a bushing on the throttle shaft. I also hooked up a vacuum gauge so I could watch the effect of adjusting the air/idle needle. I used starting fluid to spray around the intake and...
