Hello Guys,
thanks for your feedback and the warm welcome. I am relieved that I don't have to bend the levers back into position.
My Tudor is in good shape on the outside and there is no rusted sheetmetal. But whoever has owned this car before me did not spent a lot of time for maintenance...
Hello,
right now I am going through the entire brake system of my 1929 Model A Tudor Sedan. When I disassembled the emergency brake shaft I noticed that both levers that actuate the emergency brake rods are kind of bent (see photos attached).
I have marked the center lines of the brake shaft and...
Hello,
I was able to get the lockpins removed from the axle. Here is how it went:
After hitting the locking pins with an air chisel from the front side nothing moved. That led me to think that the nut on the rear side needed to be removed first. Out came the impact wrench but first I had to cut...
Hi Guys,
thanks for your replies. Before I get the impact gun / air chisel out I would like to confirm to which side I have to knock the lockingpin out. The usual direction would be from rear to front but to do this I will have to get the lock nuts off on the rear side. Is my understanding...
Hello,
since the kingpin bushings on my 1929 Tudor Sedan are badly worn on both sides I have to disassemble the front axle.
During the process I found that the locking bolts for the king pins are different from what I would have expected to see on a stock Model A (see pictures). There is a...
Hello Henk,
thanks for offering your support. I sure will need any help I can get once I start working on this car. Since you are from the Netherlands, do you know the company Motoren Revisie Meijerink? I plan to send them my engine for a complete rebuild. Seems they are rebuilding a lot of...
One of the things I would like to put into my Tudor Sedan is an F-100 steering box.
I tried to get in contact (email, telephone) with Randy Gross but in the last few weeks I could not get feedback from him.
Does anyone know if he is still selling these steering boxes?
Cheers,
Mirko
I have already watched some of Paul Shinn's videos on Youtube and I really liked them, very informative. Need to find some time to watch a couple more of Paul's videos.
I really miss the times when I was still living in the US. I was located in Michigan and there was always a car show every weekend. Spend a lot of time watching races at the Miland Dragway. A couple of times a year they also had vintage race action.
Enjoy the races.
I really envy you guys in the US. Plenty of parts vendors for early Fords and so many swap meets. Here in Austria I can only mail order the smaller parts. That's why I paid attention that the sheet metal and runnign gear was in good order when I bought my Tudor Sedan in the US.
Keep enjoying...
I am still looking for literature that can be useful when working on and arround the Model A. Is there something like a workshop manual available that describes the different work steps? Also I think a parts list would be helpful since they normally contain a lot of "explosion views".
I know...
Hello Chris,
thanks for pointing me towards the MARC. I will check out their website.
As far as the other points are concerned that is exactly what I have planned. I need to get the car running first especially since it was sitting in my workshop the last two years. I already looked into the...
