Sounds to me like dirt in the bowls and it rises when you accelerate. Had a similar problem.

I have a 1927 Touring which is a driving restoration project. I am in need of a front left and right top iron, anybody have a pair of good ones cheap. I live in Ontario Canada. Thanks, Bud.
