    Were T's black only?

Not exactly sure about this, but I believe that T owners could chose different colored wire wheels ('26) that were painted by the dealerships and not the factory. Factory issue was black early in '26 and optional colors, by the factory, came later in the year. In '27 optional colors were totally...

New member with "new" 1922 Model T

I would suggest that you try to purchase Bruce McCalley's book "Model T Ford" The car that changed the world. Also available thru the Model T Ford Club of America I believe. This book is fantastic. All years are documented with all changes made over the years. I have had mine since '94 and still...

    1927T roadster project

Pictures are worth a thousand words. If the car is in restorable condition, with no bullet holes, rust out, or damaged beyond repair items, price might surprise you. I am sure that you would get honest opinions on this site, based on a few good quality photos. Just my opinion of course. Skip

    Tire question

I only had one T with non demountable rims and that was 40 years ago. I remember putting new tires on just once and the best advice I got was to park the car in the sunlight to warm the tires and use 3 spoons (new), like mentioned above. Not an easy job, but they came off better than expected...

1927 ford coupe door rubber that contacts the sill

The "u" shaped pads are door pillar mounted on '26 and '27 coupe doors. the rectangle pads are used on the top of each door on '26 and '27 coupes. The only other rubber used on my '26 and '27 coupe doors are the window stop pad inside the door and the door strap. Glad to hear that the square pad...

1927 ford coupe door rubber that contacts the sill

I have had both '26 and '27 coupe doors and neither year had any bottom rubber pads. Only top and pillar thick rubber cushions. Hope others will respond. If the is a spot on the bottom of your door, it would need attachment holes or a recess for mounting. Good luck. Skip in MN.

    difference in years

Try to purchase the book "Model T Ford" The car that changed the world, by Bruce W. McCalley. All years are covered in great detail. It has helped me over the years to verify some questionable items that were on my T's or were for sale at swap meets. Good luck. Skip in MN.

1926-27 T coupe sheet metal locations?

Just went through my '26 coupe and could not find a match. At first I thought they might be window channels on the door, but they are u-shaped without holes. Kind of agree that they are not coupe items.

Parts found at an old mine, are they Model T?

The box you are asking about is the keyed ignition switch and the opening next to it was where the large ammeter was installed. This box was used on T trucks back in the day. Nice photos by the way

Who Designed And Built The Ford 1904 Model B Car & Engine ?

If you want a different perspective about the early years of automobile evolution, check out "Cadillac, The complete seventy-year history", by Maurice Hendry. I agree with the Dodge brothers involvement with the engines etc., but Cadillac and Ford had common problems that required outside...

    Sad day

Sold my restored '29 A 2-dr Sedan a couple of years ago to a young man (early 20's) from rural MN.. He saw my ad on craigslist and he asked a ton of questions. He wanted it in the worst way, and I found out that his dad owned one so the interest was definitely there. He wanted to keep it...

Cowl Width Dimension on Tudor or Coupe

Your photo is a little confusing. Where your arrows are located appears to be above the lowest part of the firewall. The sides are tapered in on that location. At the very bottom, the dimension on my '26 Coupe is 28-1/4" where the skin meets the firewall. Hope this helps.

UHaul open car hauler for a Model T?

I have hauled many T's over the years with open trailers with no problems. Anything that is loose should be removed or wrapped. Now I wrap the entire car with 3 ft wide cling wrap material and cover the whole works with a tied down tarp. Tie down both axels to the trailer bed with ratchet straps...

    Best Model T Books

If you are starting a restoration project, then I would suggest some of the manuals and publications published by the MTFCA for your vehicle. I have used many of these and they are packed with valuable info. The "Model T Ford, The Car That Changed The World" by Bruce McCalley is excellent. It is...
