    Model T Allen Coil Tester

If I knew someone on that side of the US... otherwise it would have to be shipped coast to coast... I'd be very interested, thanks!

Is this a t wheel? Has a number with a letter a with circle around it

I think S'heavy olé!! Not a Ford product, anyway.

Would theses bits make a T

I want to know how you got the manifold and carb on the LEFT side of the motor... I thought it was a reversed negative shot of a RHD car until I saw the Ford Script. So... what's the back story on this car? Enquiring minds NEED to know this one!!!

    Spark Plug GAP

Model T "factory spec" is .03125", or to put it in the parleyance of back then, 1/32 o an inch. That's with Champion X's, or also with Splitdorfs, or any other original plug.

    Model T/Fordson mystery ignition part

There were a number of different timers used on both the T and the Fordson - the one that this one matches has a set of contact points in the cap to "make and break" the contact as the rotor made contact with each contact patch. Kind of complicated setup, but If you have the cap DON'T get rid...

Number of Teeth in the Rear end Pinion Gear

Gives you a little more power to the wheels. Stock (factory) is 11:40. For a while (probably still out there) you could get 13:39 kits - makes that speedster or roadster really walk the dog, turns the fordor into a dog (my daddy's '15 roadster had a set in it - wow!!)... but IIRC someone...

    Model T magnetized?

"The truth is out there"...

    Model T magnetized?

My vote is for the car being picked up by a wrecking yard magnet. Unless it was driven by those space aliens that went unnoticed until the Roswell incident... ;)

    Transmission Bands

Part of the "joy" of owning an early car... but it's amazing how adept you get at pulling and replaceing that hogshead.

Any suggestions on transporting a T long distance?

BEAUTIFUL Tudor!!! I am in awe when a car this pretty is saved from the ravages of age! Congratulations on your wife's new car!! --grins--

Can I change low gear notch and housing easily?

Dumb question time - can't you pull your hogshead cover without pulling the motor? You have to pull the floorboards, but (unless I missed something unique to the later cars body style - it's been a while since I worked on a later car) you can pull this with the engine in the car. Just make sure...

    Kingston "L" Carb Rebuild

They're not hard to do, but go really gently. On my Winfield aftermarket carbs (which I love dearly!!) I did my own work, and at the worst case had to have a needle valve remade (scored bad!) but all in all, if you go gently, they are scary easy to work on. (Of course, the best place is the...

    Newbe question..1919 touring

And so the addiction begins!!! Couple things, look in your gas tank with a good flashlight for rust. Rust never sleeps, but it will make your car do so (usually at the worst possible moment!). Also, unless someone put later (balloon) tires on your car, the 30x3 1/2's run a *minimum* of 50...

    Need Advice badly

You have an issue... somewhere. Sounded off the cuff like a manifold leak, but it recreates as soon as y our car gets hot (and 280 IS hot for a T). If it were carb probs, a 4 would be running lean (and hot). If it were me, I'd drain the water, pull the head, and check to see if your head...

    Newbe question..1919 touring

IF you don't have a starter or generator on your car (blocking plates on the hogshead and front right of the motor where the generator goes) you *can* use a 12V battery to fire the coils. I prefer negative ground (as did Henry!) but you're not going to hurt the coils - they're designed to run...
