I have never owned an optima battery. That being said I have read many recent reviews that are not positive on new optima batteries, it may be better to just replace with a script battery and use a battery maintainer to extend its life.

I purchased a 1938 ford coupe in 2008 from a dealer Hooked on Classics in Watertown MN and am trying to find any History/owners of the car. Car has a 21 stud flathead a chrome dash and at one time had parallel leaf springs. If you have any information on the history please let me know.

What I was trying to determine is if there is any back spacing difference between the 1938 wide five wheel and the 5-5 1/2 wheels I guess 1940 was the first year not 1939 I assumed the change followed the changeover with hydraulic brakes
