I have not posted anything on here for a long time but I had to share this. My Dad has always wanted a decent Model T and he bought one right before his 74th birthday. He has been driving it all over the place. One of his plans for the summer was teaching his grandkids from Texas how to drive...
Sounds like it is going to get a new home. Was my wife's birthday yesterday and all she wanted to do was hop in the T and go out somewhere to eat. Headed out on a 30 mile trip, ate and made the 30 miles back. She says we need it so things are looking good!
I appreciate everyone's feedback. I agree with you Steve, lower prices don't bother me either since I am more of a buyer that drives them for fun rather than selling them. The 6-7K range was what I had in mind also.
Thanks,
Pete
Hello, I am for some advice on the ballpark value on a 25 Roadster. A guy brought me this car to get it running and he was pondering selling it. He is no longer pondering and I intend to buy it. When he brought it out I had permission to do what I want with it. I have put roughly 250 miles on...
Some of you guys need to toughen up. Here in North Dakota we just laugh at the cold and snow and drive our Model A's around. In the summer I drive my 25 T roadster pickup. Just happy to have a couple of old Fords to drive year around!:D
In your post you stated "Ive had it for about 3 years now and haven't had a lot of time to work on it or a lot of interest to work on it." How can you have a car that is 90% complete as you state, not have a lot of time to work on it but still be able to find the time to start over and create a...
I put a set of Lucas tires on when I bought my A 3 years ago. Have about 8500 miles on them and am happy. Lots of putting around at 35-40 mph but have done quite a few longer trips at 50-53 mph and they seem to be fine. Expect to get a lot more miles out of them yet.
Pete
Measured the 19" tires on my 31. Circumference of 91.06" of travel per revolution or 7.588'.
1753 RPM at 40
1972 RPM at 45
2410 RPM at 55
2630 RPM at 60
Pretty much the same numbers as posted above if that one is equipped with 21" tires so whether equipped with 21" or 19" they both travel...
When I did mine I used bought a pan set for a mid-70's small block chevrolet. I took the piece for the rear main cap and trimmed it to length. It pushes into place easier than the cork gasket in the A set. Worked great and does not leak.
I agree with the order of screen, gasket and then bowl but disagree with the cork gasket. I used to be a cork gasket fan because the neoprene always swelled up. I have found that the bowl gaskets that NAPA sells do not swell up. I assume they are neoprene but I really don't know what they are...
