I like the set I got from MACs, one of the more difficult easy jobs on the car, it was like wrestling a can of snakes to get it threaded and compacted into the cap top.

I pulled up to a stop light the other day in my 47 and a car rolled up beside me, the back window rolled down, and a young man that looked around twelve asked me, does your car have a flathead V8 in it, I gave him a thumbs up, dad was grinning in the front seat.

That was my first thought, they look like the detent balls to the shift levers.

I used a wooden dowel, cut down to about an inch long, four of them, screwed them in just enough to hold the gasket, and also detached the tie rod, it wasn't to bad of a job.

The tube is threaded and unscrews on my 47 also.

I took my 47 in today for an estimate, I've decided to keep the OEM exhaust manifolds and not use headers, with two inch pipe no mufflers, I'm going with straight pipes for now. $261.00

I drive my 47 like it doesn't have brakes, lol.

You might want to add some oil to the fan and a drop or two in the generator oil port.

Read this thread and pulled my leaky side cover, lol. waiting on seals now, I was already in the area replacing the brake and clutch pedal bushings and transmission mount on my 47 so why not, my floor will thank me. The info came in handy.

O'Reilly's auto parts did mine, $12.00 a drum, it should not be that hard to get a drum turned.
