    Ebay Bidding...What the heck here...

eBay had some major issues the past few days.. all my wife's auctions were deleted (she makes soap) and 2 days later some re-appeared. Maybe it's somehow related... $25 bux for UPS ground?!?!? I hate it when sellers squeeze more money from buyers by pumping up shipping costs.. you could...

    Leak Down Test

ya, I tried that once.. I ran up against the "wiki-weenies" who insisted I follow a protocol that's foreign to me... I don't have enough time in a day to become a professional wiki editor.

    Leak Down Test

See, the problem with Wikipedia is the articles are OFTEN wrong. It saddens me to think that people wil accept what they see in wikipedia as gospel without investigating it. Aviation does not use leak-down testing. In fact, I've never seen anyone use leakdown testing for engine work. What we use...

    power wash engine

I have an Epps wet-steam washer @ 3000psi. did my engine quite nicely. One thing is discovered though was all the crud that gets blasted off ends up all over the inside of the fenders.. now I put a tarp of them before cleaning.

    YOM license plates

maybe I like to live on the edge? (A california license plate story) before I know about the YOM program.... My first vintage car was a 54 Cadillac, I happen to find a nice set of correct plates at a yard sale - paid 10 bux for them. I applied for "vanity plates" using those numbers, but when...

    High Compression Head - Snyder's 6:1

The process is called Dye Penetrant Inspection. It's a non-destructive test method, relatively inexpensive and used for a lot more than weld checking. I use it often when inspecting aircraft. Basically the concept is to apply a dye (usually red color) to test area, allow it time to flow in to...
