My ‘37 had the same problem after sitting for over 2 years.
It was the core plugs in the pan rail.
Was told by a local old timer to use pre WWII copper wheat pennies as replacements, he said that’s what they did back in the day. Never corrode. They're the same 3/4” diameter as the...
Just had a discussion with Deuce_Roadster last week about this very topic.
The pool of guys interested in antique vehicles is getting smaller and smaller. Seems prices are reflecting it.
60’s and early 70’s Muscle cars are holding steady…but as us old farts fade away…the interest in our...
Been a few months since I’ve posted.
I’ve been enjoying my ‘37 Model 79 since I got it back on the road last spring.
But a couple weeks ago I went out to start the old gal after sitting for a month or so…and lots of spinning over, but she wouldn’t start.
When I first started into this...
Good catch!
After you posted I looked deeper into the bibles notes, and I agree, the 2620 is just the lining I think.
My bands have 20 holes/rivets per shoe/band assembly. But the bible says it looks like the 20 rivet ones should have 4 pieces of lining. So I'm confused...again.
I think...
I was there exactly 5 years ago.
My kids all pitched in and paid for my trip as my 60 birthday present.
It’s impossible to stand on the beaches and not be overcome by emotion when you try to grasp what was happening right then 74 years earlier.
A trip full of memories I will never forget.
My ‘37 Model 79 needs new hand brake bands. I’ve got 2 complete brake sets (pairs) but all 4 are in need of being relined or replaced.
Looking at Model 51’s book I see a part number of 51-2609, the green bible doesn’t show a “2609” part number at all, but a “2610” for ‘37 (‘28-‘39)
I’m having...
Re: 7-1/2 years later…my project is done.
The "younger" sibling is actually my Grandpas '66 F100 that he bought new. I learned to drive in it picking up hay bales from the field...the summer I was 9 years old...1966.
Re: 7-1/2 years later…my project is done.
Well it starts and runs like a champ due to your setting up the distributor!
I just have to bump the start button and it fires off.
7-1/2 years later…my project is done.
I joined Ford Barn in October 2015. That’s the day I brought my ‘37 truck project home. My first post was of the truck and what was correct and what was not.
I immediately got lots of positive input and advice from members. Over the years I’ve asked dumb...
I can't seem to verify anywhere whether or not the speedometer cable for a regular pickup will work for my 131.5 in wheelbase Model 79.
I don't have the old cable to use as a guide for length so I'm kinda fumbling around. The drive is in the torque tube and the speedometer in the dash appears...
