DannL Take a look at some Model As that have been hot rodded. There is a lot more to it than just dropping in a V-8. Updated brakes, steering, rear end trans, etc, Sell your current Model A and buy a hot rod. Most are for sale for less than half what they cost to build.

You should post your needs in the Model A swap meet wanted section as well.

I installed mine under the driver's seat. While I was done there I added a second ground cable to the passenger side of the bellhousing.

I'm a believer in the tool to press out the hinge pins. I tried tapping the out with a drift punch. No luck. I built my own tool patterned after the commercial tools. It made a tough job simple. It is important to used rags or cardboard to protect the paint.

Its been a rough winter here in Colorado. Record snows, over 500 avalanches shut down I-70 and many major highways for hours! But we should have fuller reservoirs this year.

China is capable of making quality parts. The problems are caused by the ordering US companies not staying on top of the quality control. All that aside, I try to buy US made stuff when I can. But it gets more difficult every year!

I mounted mine thru the floor under the driers seat, using #2 copper wire. I also added another ground cable over to the ****** mount.

I installed the replacement LED bulbs in my 29, it has an added right tail light. To compare brightness, I put one bulb in and tried the lights. I was not impressed.

In Dayton, Ohio, I flew in a Tri motor in the early 60s. I was 12 or 13. The plane was touring the midwest. I don't remember if it flew from the Moraine airport or from the Montgomery County Airport, now Dayton-Wright Bros. airport, home of the Wright B flyer.

I have seen many first class restorations as well as cars equipped as this 31 listed on ebay and elsewhere for less money than the current bid, go unsold. Lets hope this is an indication of general increase in Model A values. But I'm not holding my breath.

Even though all the wiring is new, I took the same approach. Plus I added a battery disconnect under the drivers seat. When I pull the car inside, I shut off the gas and throw the disconnect switch. Prior to adding the switch, I pulled the battery ground cable.

Other forums offer a category for "off topic" threads. The Barn doesn't so those threads tend to wind up where some people feel they don't belong, holiday greetings, etc. I enjoy most of that banter. If one doesn't, they can skip them.
