James, About four years ago, I picked up a 1926 TT Express Stake Bed Truck from a farmer. It was all original and I gave the gentleman $5000. It ran, but needed restoration. I restored the truck and it was appraised at $10K - $12K. It is a fun truck to drive! Best, Paul

What is a rough fair value for a 1928 AR Pickup Truck. I have a chance to get one that was restored around 2000 and has sat in a business display since. It looks good, but I need to check it over and insure it runs. I want to make a far offer, but not over spend.

They are necessary. The manifold will warp/misalign over time and leaks will develop.

Mike, I have repaired many by tig welding and reforming. It is also good to drill a small hole at the end of the crack to relieve the stress line before welding. I have used this technique for years and never had one reappear. Regards, Paul
