    Carburetor Float valves

Sounds like most have had issues with leaks. I have worked on my 30' many times. I found a cure that works for me. I rev the motor up a little before turning the ignition off - no leaks. Not a real fix but works for me. Just tired of taking that carb apart and buying needles & seats. Steve

    Water pump leather cover yes/no

How about the dirt/oil on the underside of the hood coming from the oil cap breather? I use one of those after market flexable extension tubes - works great :) Steve from Texas

    Gear Shift Lever loose

Hello Guys, Thanks for the help. It's always nice to have someone out there who knows a thing or two about these old cars. As it turned out, when I started to disassemble the tower, I found the problem. I removed the chrome half sphere cover from the shift lever and noticed a steel pin about...

    Gear Shift Lever loose

I was driving down the highway when I noticed that my gear shift lever was not staying in near the third gear. In fact, it moves all over the place but the trany stays in third gear. I stopped and was able to move it enough to get first gear, reverse, and third but not second. I got home...

    Using too much radiator water

Sorry for not reporting back sooner - don't always get to work on the A. Each of you has given me something to check out. I did move the overflow tube to up under the rear lip - didn't seem to help. Don't see bubbles. I am going to disconnect the hoses to see if the radiator empties as it...

    Using too much radiator water

    1) I'll re-tourque the head. 2) This is a new problem after a new radiator install. 3) The overflow tube is at the front of the opening not the rear... Thanks All :)

    Using too much radiator water

My '30 coupe has a good radiator and pump but every time I drive the car for thirty minutes or so, the radiator water drops about a half a gallon. What's happening? The overflow pipe is just below the cap where it should be. Could this be a matter of a leaking head gasket? How about re-torquing...

    "seat" width

Concerning your response: "But will she still get in the back with you?" She was definitely willing to get in the back. However, I had a great deal of logistical problems trying to get her back out!
