    Model "A" Era Accessories

So what are the more fun or interesting accessories that are readily available today? I saw that there are repro rainbow caps, but I can't seem to find any photos of what they look like in action to see if they're worth the cost.

    Model "A" Era Accessories

@Bob Bidonde: Is that rear luggage rack one of the standard ones with the wood strips removed and painted black? The one that came with my A has rust pits in the chrome, and that might be a good option for it.

    Rainy Day Thought

While I'm sure that a proper restoration would help, for me it's a matter of height. Even at 5'10", my eye-line settles at the top of the window. So the area cleaned by the wiper is too small, too low, and to the right of where I look out. Fortunately, as many suggest, the straight, vertical...

    Logolites opinions

The tactic I've employed is to look at the passenger side edge of the road when another car passes on the other side of the road. It's not just LEDs that can cause a problem, but simply going from the darkness to a light source and back, your eyes take time to adjust.

Vacuum-powered wipers should have "For Entertainment Purposes Only" printed on them.

I love the side toolbox and am totally envious.

    Model A Brake Lights

@JohnLaVoy Where'd you pick this up from? I'd love to take a look. Was it 6V?

    Interesting Comments about you Ride

I'm always surprised at the number of "What year do you think that is?" "1940s?" conversations I overhear around my 29 Tudor.

    No Compression in 3 & 4 Cylinders

Is there a particular recommended anti-seize for the replacement studs?

    No Compression in 3 & 4 Cylinders

At the risk of starting an argument here, what is the current best-recommended gasket and the best place to buy it from? I see mentions of a Best GraphTite?

    No Compression in 3 & 4 Cylinders

I ordered the premium gasket via Snyders. The one with the "solid steel core sandwiched by heavy-duty high-density gasket material coated with silicone."

    No Compression in 3 & 4 Cylinders

While I'm thinking ahead, I was able to get all of the studs out and will be replacing them with new grade 5 studs and grade 8 nuts. Is anti-seize something put on the studs when installing? Also, any recommendations on some kind of thin brush to clean out all the holes?

    No Compression in 3 & 4 Cylinders

Sorry about the delay here, but between work and my hesitation doing this for the first time made the process of removing the head a very slow process. But I did it! And I think I may have found the problem. (hah!)

    No Compression in 3 & 4 Cylinders

Purchased a 1929 Tudor in May and have been replacing worn our parts over the summer. I am very much a minimal shade-tree mechanic, but I've been able to do a surprising amount of work on the A, including replacing the old and rust-filled radiator. A couple of weeks ago it lost a lot of power...

    Radiator fill question

Another option might be disposable wood coffee stirrers to act like a dipstick. Amazon has them for around $3 per 1000.
