I am looking for a good running 289 or 302 Ford engine. Anywhere from mid 60's to early 90's. Going to convert to carburetor anyway. I would like to be able to hear run. Not looking for hot rod engine. Close to stock preferred. Preferably within driving distance of Coeurd'Alene Idaho or Spokane Wa.

Is it best to change the whole hinge arms and springs or just replace the coil spring? I have read a few of the horror stories how sometimes replacing the whole unit the trunk sticks up or they bind. I know the complete unit is about $150.00. How hard is it to just replace the spring? I see it...

Does anyone have a trick for removing the chrome strips on a 40 Ford Deluxe glove compartment lid without breaking the tabs?

I am looking for a 1940 Ford Deluxe clock. It don't have to work. Just look okay and not like it was dug from a landfill. I will also need the bezel and the hold down also.

I found some white walls on evilbay at a decent price. ($480.00) Not real wide as they are just a hair over 1 1/2". Less then half the price of the wider ones. I think it brightened thing a little. Not a great pic as it is still stuffed in the shop.

If I understand you correctly. There will be a spark from the coil wire every time the points break.

I have also seen brake hoses go bad. Fluid moves one way but can not release.. Old hoses come apart on the inside and after a few applications the wheel locks up then after it sets awhile it slowly releases. Next time you drive feel for a hot drum/wheel after driving and applying brakes a few times.

Yes you did. I only dropped 1 1/8 beyond stock so my drag link is good as is. Even the tie rod was good as was. I will double check that though when I drive the car and put on the lift. Car sets pretty good. About 25 1/2 from ground to fender lip. I would sure like to put on some white walls but...

Thanks 19Fordy.. Got it all together yesterday. Had to pull the drag link and put it under the wishbone.

Does the drag link and tie rod generally end up below the wishbone after a axle drop. Only did equivalent to probably a 3.25 drop. 1 1/8 beyond stock.

Yes.. If you have access to a machine that's nice. But you still have to get the initial set up as glennpm shows. This tool makes it so things so can't get away from you accidently. Anyone with some mechanical skill can get a 59 flathead running and starting well and not using a machine. I would...

I know that. This is for after you install new points and do the initial timing set up. I have done it the old school way measuring from the bolt hole. This looks like it can make it just a little easier.
