Hi I would like to dismantle my original cast iron gas sediment bulb as its full of crud. Does anyone know how to remove its insides as they appear to be fixed in some way or may be seized in position. Bill

    '29 Sport Coupe Rumble (dickey)

Can anyone tell me how the rumble trim panels were originally secured. I am attaching a photo of what is in the rumble area at present, apart from the seats which I have. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I intend to make my own panels but would like to fit them as they were...

    MGB Rear Shock Aborsers

Today I offered up my rear MGB shock absorber to the rear suspension of my Model A. I think it could be used as is, with the addition of a weld in the ball and 2 new holes drilled in the chassis/frame. This would keep the link upright in its mid position and be midway in its overall travel...

    MGB shock questions

Can anyone advise me where I can buy weld in balls for my shock absorber arms? I normally deal with Snyders but they only seem to do them for Pitman arms.

    MGB Rear Shock Aborsers

Today I obtained a rear MGB shock absorber. On offering it up to the front of my model A 1929 Sports Coupe I was really surprised how well it fitted. The bolt holes lines up perfectly, the length of the arm is the same as the Houdaille unit. The overall amount of movement of the arm is...

    Door Locks

I have had difficulty removing the lock assemblies from both doors of my '29 Sport Coupe. The extension on the lock plate didn't want to pass the door skin where it is folded around the main door frame. I feel the lock assembly must have been fitted before the door skin. The only solution I...

    7 tooth steering box

I have the same problem you have. For some reason, the top thrust bearing failed and spilled its innards into the box knackering the spline slightly at the top of the worm. I have tried to move the worm up the spline to release the lock ring and then to remove the worm. My method was similar...

    Item Unknown?

Sorry - forgot the pictures. This item was stuck to the A post in the door jamb of my Sport Coupe. There were 4 - 2 in each back door, one near the top and one near the bottom of each pillar. The one shown is the only one still complete. The others have disintegrated. It is made of...

    Steering

Can anyone tell me how to correct my steering? I'm sure it must be something to do with the 7 tooth steering box. The problem is from straight ahead it takes approximately 7/8 of a revolution of the steering wheel for a right turn and 1 1/8 turn for a left hand turn.

    Top this

Has anyone any experience of fitting a Snyder Sport Coupe top kit? Is it a job for a specialist or can success be achieved by an enthusiastic amateur with reasonable do-it-yourself skills?

Top Enquiry 1929 Ford Model A Sport Coupe

Thanks, Marco. I am duly enlightened. The remains of the top is of the whipcord (canvas like) material in tan colour that you mention. I can see from your photo how the common sense fasteners work but don't know anything about cinch fasteners. The landeau arms and fittings on my car I know...

Top Enquiry 1929 Ford Model A Sport Coupe

My car has the remains of what I believe to be the original top which I intend to replace. It may have been altered as in the Top are three turn buckle studs which I assume hold the rear window canvas section when open, but the rear window canvas on my car is a permanent fixture. I have seen...
