I did the opposite. I put a French Flathead fuel pump on my 8RT (8BA) and had to change fittings and make new fuel lines. I also had a gap where it bolted to my pump stand but I was able to work around that.
I didn't alter my pump pushrod length. It's been working since 2017.

Gary, when you get the Hatzuki to Bonneville, going with "Lumberjack" flannel material for your speedo would really represent your area of the country best. Suspenders go well with flannel and should help to prevent it from blowing off at the high speed you will most likely attain.
Next thing ya know, you'll be at Bonneville with Ronnie Roadster setting a land speed record for a Hatzuki. It's the ONLY one so it'll be a record no matter what.
I had a similar digit loss, or near loss. They did sew my nail back on because the nail bed was still on it. Touch and go for a few days whether I would keep my finger. Still have it.
Now back to the cycle. SUPER cool. Popped up on my You tube feed the other night.
There was a show on years...
I'm 65 and never did body or paint. I'm building a non Ford right now and am doing my own body and paint. It is labor intensive and the materials needed are expensive.

I finally converted my 52 F3 even though the 6 volt worked fine. I built an A/C system was my main reason. Besides what you mentioned here is what I changed.
Reverse the routing of the wire through the loop on the back of the Amp gauge so it shows charge when you change to negative ground.

I asked for an advance curve recommendation for my 8RT in my 52 F3 pickup and was told by the Late Jim Linder of Bubba's Ignition and the late John Lawson who wrote the book Flathead Facts to set mine up with 4 degrees initial advance, 18 degrees mechanical advance, all in at 2000 RPM and max of...
@Tim Ayers here's a link to my thread installing it on my truck back in 2017. I didn't remember that it takes some adaptation. Still running this pump. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1482137-french-flathead-fuel-pump-install.html
The gas evaporates from my carb in my 52 after sitting for a while. I installed a fuel pump from a French Flathead a while back when I sent my original to Charlie NY for a rebuild.
It has a priming lever on it that I use after the truck sits long enough. I never got around to putting the...
