    Top irons cabriolet

I have an early 1930 Cabriolet. It has the "lock & lever" system and not the "slide or button" system of the later 30 or 31. There are parts available for the late 30 / 31. I received a set of drawings and photos for each component of the 30 hinge mechanism and an article written describing...

Searching for a 1930 Windshield Wiper motor and blade. I have a Cabriolet and when I replaced the windshield, I was not aware that they were chrome so, mine is painted black. There are no holes in it either YET. So, I need the right motor and need to learn also what system is best, electric or...

    1931 Cabriolet

I am also searching for a good set of Top Irons (NOT Landau Irons) for my 1930 68B. OR, the internal mechanism for the pair I have on my car. Mine are missing. The hinge is the "toggle or lever" type, not the push button type of late 30 or 31. Scott

    1931 Cabriolet

I have an extra set of Landau Irons. They came off of my 1930 68B. One is in good working condition (but not real shiny though). The other was repaired by brass welding one end near the "hole" and it fits a little loose. It will not extend to rigid. If you are skilled and can get it right, it...

Those Common Turn Signal Kits Use on 6volts?

Who has installed a Truck-Lite 900 Series Turn Signal switch in their Ford Model A? Does anyone have a good idea for wiring through a "bus bar" mounted in the cowl kick panel? Most wire (as I did) down along the column. That is problematic at times. Any suggestions? Photos? Thanks.

Ammeter shows discharge but not charge

Just installed a newly rebuilt generator. Getting "no" increase in amps on ammeter even after sliding the "middle' brush to its max in either direction. I assume the 3rd brush is the middle brush. Its the brush on the top when removing the cover. I know the ammeter is good. I get a discharge...

Mystery Ford Commercial Gray color paint!

By the way, do you have any experience in restoring your metal channel top bows on your PU? I am in the process of doing that and I scraped out the asphalt strips that were caked and deteriorated inside the meltal channel. What do you suggest I replace it with? Some have suggested ABS Plastic...

1929 Ford Roadster PU Top Bow Rebuild

I am refurbishing (restoring) the metal top bows on my 1929 Ford Roadster PU. I scraped out the old asphalt material inside the metal channels that served as the backing for upholstery tacking. It was totally deteriorated and crumbling. I have spoken to upholstery guys and some suggested using...

Mystery Ford Commercial Gray color paint!

Sure Mike. Post what I sent you. If that helps the conversation...wonderful. I can take some more shots now that the PU is running an almost complete except for the upholstery. I start that Monday AM. I found and purchased an original roadster top and I am renovating it now. I think the color...

    New Problem, Paint

I am a new painter and am learning more than I ever thought I would about panting my 1929 Ford Roadster PU. As you probably know, there is wood 'belt rail' on the rear top of the body (the top sits on it). I have been advised that the wood is "painted body color and can (should) be painted as...

    Gunmetal Blue Pictures?

Just an update to my previous message: I found a spot-on Match for the Commercial drab this last week and I sprayed and cleared the under-seat panel of my 1929 Roadster Pickup. It turned out really nice. The color (Standard Green-Gray) came from GCC Paints. Its Part No. is 6038. I'll post a...

    Gunmetal Blue Pictures?

Forget everything I have ever said about the commercial gray color for my 1929 Ford Roadster PU. I selected a great "Commercial Drab" and I love it. It matched the Gray Green from GCC. I sprayed the under-seat panel today to check the color and its beautiful. And, its one of the five prescribed...
