    1936 Pickup Bed Questions

I left the original metal floor in place. I replaced all the hardwood planks between the bed floor and the subframe. To finish the top, I used a piece of plywood, routered slots to add metal rub strips, three coats of stain and polyurethane, then bolted through the rub strips, through the...

    Differences in 35 and 36 Ford Pick-up

    You aren't the only one with a Frankenstein truck...I have a 40 flathead in a 1938 car frame, a 1936 cab with a 1937 bed. It all works ;)

    New OEM-style Suspension Springs

Eaton Detroit Spring is dedicated to making springs to OE specs. For example, many early Mustang parts houses show 1 leaf spring part number for 65-67, but Eaton has all the variables for coupe, conv, fastback, GT, non GT, v8, 6 cyl, etc.

Correct Pickup bed hold down strips

When I put the wood in my '36 bed I ordered strips online and they pre-punched square holes for me in the locations I gave them dimensions for

Getting close to paint decision time. Need advice.

My 36 is painted with Eastwood's Wimbledon White. I like the look of a single stage solid color. If I need to repair it, no problems blending a clear or getting a metallic to match. Rust 911 before and after

yeah, on second look that may be correct. I used a big piece of pvc to soak my dash rail and steering column, but I used vinegar and I didn't cut the pipe, just put caps on both ends

Wayne Carini gets a 36 Ford pickup

But he knows what he is doing, and he has spent decades building his reputation and client list to get where he is today. His knowledge is what they pay him for, and that knowledge has come from hard work. Nothing says you gotta turn a wrench for 60 years and never make any progress.

The dash is two layers there. I put large flat washers and lock washers under the bolt heads.
