    39 Merc flsthead

I believe another factor for the relief was. To lower the chance of cracking between valve seats and bore on big stuff. Sure I read in Ford paperwork back along. Martin.

    Ignition Issues, Crab distributor

With high compression and that 1007B cam your engine will like more initial timing than a stock engine. Also what rpm are you idling at? Your combination will require a higher idle to stop it cutting out under braking or cornering. I know it's nice to hear the slow lope at idle, but with a track...

40's Pickup door glass - Channel or no Channel?

My 1942 pickup has no metal frame around the door glass, I believe this came in during the US war years. Martin.

    49 8BA has no power

It was stated the distributor doesn't look like it's been moved since the dawn of time. But now has a petronics kit in it. While this swap can be easily done without distributor removal, I've always found that the ignition will need retiming after fitting, even if it was spot on with the points...

    Speedometer face plates 1940-1946

Right guys, Sorry for delay, I completely forgot about this thread. (CRS syndrome)😁. This odd guage cluster, someone asked whether it maybe a KPH speedometer. I'd never think about this in the past but he's bang on. Just converted the speeds on mine from MPH to KPH and the shift indications...

    1932 B banger with a Model A flywheel ?

The Model C was used in Britain, it looks kinda like a 7/8 scale 35 Ford. . Martin.

    Speedometer face plates 1940-1946

Tim and Fritz, I unfortunately have no idea if this cluster came out of a big truck. Which would seem odd as I've only seen 60 mph Speedos (the guage not the little swim pants) associated with them. But mines got shift points on it, but 100 mph? As for the ammeter, I've inquired in the past...

Hopefully here's the pics of the 1940 Truck cluster including the Amp guage, chrome surround and 100 mph four speed speedometer. https://photos.app.goo.gl/vLaf8ZLUWtQ5XQwZ7 https://photos.app.goo.gl/6fdEASbGendGLxy58 An odd combination but it's real. Martin.

    What the heck is that?

I'm sure they can still change a tyre, even if they don't know what the wheel is off. The machine they use doesn't know what the wheel came off. Martin.
