    Flathead sound.

If you look at the video, you will see a 40 Pickup----that's what I hope to install the engine in. I have had some serious health issues for the past 4 years that have prevented any work on the truck. Maybe some day!!!

    Flathead sound.

That is my engine! It's been so long since I built it, I cannot remember the exact CompCams grind---but it's the biggest one. We do have a lot of compression for the street(9.6 to 1 ) but with the amount of overlap the engine will loose some running compression----so I think we will be OK...

flathead two/two intake with stock generator

The only intake I know of is the Hexigon intake. They are very rare. The carbs mount backwards on the intake. I have one but I choose to just "look at it" periodically.

Hank Williams ans the Ford V8

Going down the highway, listering to Hank/Hank Jr. is great------but even better when you are driving Hank Jr's formerly owned 40 Ford sedan.

    Steering damper

My 40 sedan doesn't have a damper. It handles well with no "bump" up to 70-75 ---as fast as I want to go. I use a dropped axle with 7.5 degrees of caster. But, the steering is hard as low speeds and as I get older---it gets more trouble to steer. I have been pondering reducing the caster angle...

    1951 - rod & main clearance

This is sort of "on the subject". Coating of bearings (and other parts as well) is very standard today. There are companies that coat bearings OR you can coat them yourself with the right equipment. The typical moly coating on a bearing is .0005" thick for each bearing shell or .001" for both...

    1940 Ford Convertible Radiator?

I have a split core radiator in my shop. Thirty years ago, both cores were replaced and the tanks are original. The radiator is essentially new. The only usage was to run in an engine about 28 years ago. It was drained then and been kept in the dry since then. If you want it, the price is $300...

    Barrett Jackson

You have cars that look good at 50 feet, closer than that the flaws show. Then you have car that look good at 5 feet---they are worth far more than the 50 footers. Finally, you have the cars that look good "all the way". Those become the reeally "high dollar" cars.

    My flathead engine

A couple of other questions that I did not answer: Yes, the heads, intake and gear cover is powder coated. I am getting too old to polish on aluminum or chrome. I think I will powder coat(black) the air cleaners. The pistons and heads are ceramic coated. We have used this in the past on...

    My flathead engine

I finally got my engine together and it is NOW running. My son is really the assembler----for who I am truly blessed. One of my goals was to build the meanest sounding flathead around, and I think we have met the goal. If you want to view it, go to: http://youtu.be/oPp-DfDRYX8

    Cross steering for 34 Ford

I am considering using a Vega box on my 40 ford pickup. Some say the Vega box is too light to handle the weight of a pickup. Any opinions? My truck should weigh about 2700 lbs, not much more than a 34 coupe.
