    1909 Difficult to turn over

I'm not sure if the weather in Wisconsin is warm enough to do this, but I tow the car behind my pickup for a couple of miles with the spark plugs out. This loosens up the engine and transmission enough to start the car. After a couple of miles, install the spark plugs and tow the car to get...

Do You grease a Nu Day Timer???

The New-Day timer is a "dry timer." Use a small amount of powdered graphite and smear it on the timer. It will provide lubrication and the timer will not wear out prematurely. The graphite does not interfere with the ground. I have lubricated the New-Day timers on my cars for years. I hope...

1908 Brush & 1911 Model T Stynoski Contender video interview

This video must have been made around 2002, because in 2023, Brian entered his 1911 Roadster for the MTFCI Stynoski Award and won the award. I was fortunate enough to judge the car for the Stynoski, and it is a beautiful car. Russ Furstnow Former MTFCI Chief Judge

1914 Cross Country Road Trip to Dearborn

William, If you are going through Flagstaff, I invite you to stop and check out a collection of Model T Coupelets (and a few other Model Ts and Mustangs). Regarding your trip, my wife and I drove our Model T to the Centennial Celebration in 2008, and only drove three miles on an Interstate...

    1916 couplet

My car was produced in January 1916, and in June 1915, all the brass trim on the lights was eliminated. I've attached some information about the introduction of the 1916 model from the "Ford Sales Bulletin" dated November 1915. I hope this helps, Russ Furstnow

    1916 couplet

Coupelets are quite rare. They did not sell well when originally offered, and by 1916, the price of the car was lowered and they sold better. From my research, there seems to be around 60 coupelets still around, and the 15K price you quote is very low. It seems that the price of the car today...

Ed, I've gone through the paints colors that were used on 1927 Fords, and I cannot find anything called "Hunter Green." The colors that are known are Channel Green, Drake Green, Highland Green and Commercial Green. I know the paint codes for these colors. Also, some information regarding the...

ID oil or trans cover plate?

That is a cover for the crankcase. The cover goes on a "3-dip" crankcase or pan and is removable so the rods can be adjusted as necessary. I hope this helps, Russ Furstnow
