    Helicoil pains

Thanks for the input guys. At least I know I'm not alone. Permatex did the trick. Put 50 miles on her today and no leak. Bob NJ

    Helicoil pains

Looks like I goofed. After stripping the threads on one of the top flywheel housing bolt holes in the block I proceeded to drill and tap for a helicoil. I was careful to try and stop the drill from going much deeper than the existing hole for fear of hitting the water jacket. But now after...

Who has their Model A on You Tube?

    Tinnitus while driving the Roadster

I need to oil where the front motor mount meets the frame or I get a loud ringing like you describe. I thought it was a bearing squeal but instantly goes away when i add oil to the frame cross member. Bob NJ

    Temp controls

LOL, that car looks familiar, and yes I did add a steering column bracket to it before taking it on the road. Even with the support it had a little wiggle that i didn't like. I had to disconnect the fuel control rod cause every wiggle effected the throttle. I have some more pics of it if that...

    Turn signal

There was a tech article posted on the HAMB regarding this a few months ago. I was interested in doing the same so I saved the link. Unfortunatly the pics are no longer in the original post but someone re-posted the schematic on post #34. Its slightly more involved but still pretty simple and...

    55Th Annual New England Meet

Is there going to be any sort of show or open hours or anything? I live only 20 minutes from the hotel but wasn't planning to register my car since it lacks an interior for judging and I lack the confidence for an extended tour as I'm still getting acquainted with her. I was really looking...

    Bumper Question

I got prices of $400 per BAR in the tri state area! As in $400 x 6. The lowest quote was $300 per bar. I think I might send mine to Berts for replating but not sure how bad shipping both ways is gonna be though. Bob NJ

Which turn signal kit to use?

I'm thinking about using the control box from this kit with a momentary switch like Clydes under the dash and cloth wiring from one of the vendors. I have not heard anything about them though so I'm not sure if its a good recommendation or not but its another option...

    Windshield Question

Really! I'll have to check that out. I just had mine apart last year and put the hinge together before screwing it to the header with a fight. I was dreading taking it back apart since I stripped two of the screws on one side and getting some sag. Thanks, Bob NJ

    Paint

If your not going to get a hobby-Air make sure you get the activated cartridge respirator from a paint supply house. The generic ones from the hardware store work for dust but are not designed to neutralize the isocyanides like the activated cartridge. They are inexpensive and good for 8 hours...

    Water inlet for temp gauge

Thanks for your replies! I should have mentioned I have a motometer on my cap so hopefully that should indicate any catastrophic failure in the cooling system. I just want a little more data (not as much as Peter) on what the cooling system is doing for piece of mind. Peter, I definitely...

    Water inlet for temp gauge

I know the water outlet neck is the best place for the temp gauge but does any one run one of these threaded water inlets to hook up the temp gauge? I feel routing the tube from this would look a lot cleaner then routing it from the front. I just need to account for the delta between upper and...

Condenser Life w/ the Nu-Rex upper plate

Another vote for the traditional plates... I've been fighting getting my motor to run right for the last few months with occasional skips, touchy advance, and lack of power. I finally took the Dizzy apart last night after reading this thread and of course the "wireless plate" terminal was...
