1956 had two different bumpers. one for the fairlanes with the exhaust ports and one for the customlines and mainlines without the exhaust ports. The bolt holes are the same on both styles. On 55's the bolt holes would be where the exhaust ports are on a 56. Other than the two holes not lining...

If I remember right there were two different sizes for the pleats in 55.
