LED taillights and how to wire turn signals

Thanks for all the excellent replies. To do what I want, it seems i must dump the 4-wire turn signal unit and get a 7-wire. My setup for my '31 Dlx Coupe (6 volt pos gnd): Cowl lamps have the Turn Signal Adapter Kit with a new reflector that has a larger hole in center and socket for dual...

LED taillights and how to wire turn signals

Y, My turn signal unit only has 4 wires, nothing for the brake light switch. I may have to get a 7 wire unit, maybe a Signal-Stat 900? Ideas anyone? thanks

LED taillights and how to wire turn signals

Patrick, I found a good variety of Electronic flashers (6 & 12 volt) that work with LEDs. Bulbs too. I may have to get at different turn signal unit with more wires to solve the stop lamp wiring issue?

LED taillights and how to wire turn signals

After long searching for help, I suspect there is a smart person out there. I have 2 LED tail lamps from from Mac's (with a black wire: parking lamp and a green wire:for Stop and Turn signals). The old turn signal unit is an old one model 9000-ST which does not have a separate wire for Stop...

    Rear axle seal part number?

Is there a modern part number that is available from bearing shops for the rear axle grease seal in the hub? The original # is A-1175. Just hoping there is a modern version available quickly. Yea, I know there doesn't seem to be anything that happens quickly on these cars. thanks roughrider

    Model A Brake rivets

Bob, I have used rivets that were approx. 0.330 in overall length with some woven brake linings. Those protruded 0.080 inch beyond the shoe. Try one of your rivets with your linings and peen it over. If it doesn't look good, just drill it out (don't use too big a drill) and look for different...

    Oversize brake rivets?

The brake shoes on my '31 coupe have worn holes for the rivets, 0.166 inch. But the only brass rivets I can find are 0.142 inch shaft diameter. Does anyone make an oversize rivet with the proper head diameter, approx 9/32 inch? thanks

Newbie that has model A that has not been started since 1968

Hi, My 31 coupe was in storage from 1966-2011! Since my engine was NOT rebuilt and probably has a lot of sludge, I only use 30 weight, NON-detergent oil (Walmart, etc.). I took off the carb, fuel line and glass fuel bowl (on the firewall) and cleaned them with 70% rubbing alcohol-stuff worked...

    Model A and T music

Anyone know where I can obtain digital (CD or other) recordings of songs about Model As or Ts? Or roaring twenties jazz? Example: "Ford has made a lady out of Lizzie" by Joe Wheeler... thanks Roughrider

    Another Evaporust victory

FRED K-OR, RE your 21 " wheel. I took my wire wheels to the powder coater in El Paso after straightening a few spokes and welding a few small cracks. They did all the sand blasting and powder coated them for $50 each. They look Awesome! Well worth the money...

    31 Cowl lamp assembly

I am rebuilding my original lamps and don't know if the lens goes next to the rim and then the gasket, followed by the spring clips or some other way. I seem to be installing the clips the wrong way as they don't allow the rim fully seat against the lamp far enough to allow the screw to go in...

Getting the rear hub off the brake drum?

Guys, I got them apart today. Sprayed them with Kroil and let sit for 2 days, then heated up the drum around the hub (but not heating the hub), block of wood on the nose of the hub, and 3 careful taps with a hammer. Bingo. Thanks for all the replies.

Front wheel bearing race is loose...

Working on my 31 coupe and noticed the outer front wheel bearing race is rotating in the hub. I assume that is not good, how do I fix it? Any special tools needed? Thanks
