Hey all. Thanks for all the info and advice. Tried re-torquing them, but still had the leak. Time to replace in now.

    Leaking head gasket

So here’s my problem. I’m working on getting my 28 CCPU running. I’ve rebuilt the carbuerator and fixed a few other small items. Tonight I’m happy to say that I got it running for the first time in about five years. Super exciting. Unfortunately, I now discovered a leaking head gasket above the...

    Throttle return spring replacement

Well I found it. Wire brushed made it show. Very lightly. The pin was a softer metal than the throttle assembly. Would not budge with punch and five pound hammer. Drilled small hole through the pin and then it came loose with punch. Thanks again for your help everyone. Very much appreciated...

    Throttle return spring replacement

Tried to twist it over, and all I’m doing is bending the spring.

    Throttle return spring replacement

Took a bit but found a post that recommended removing floor board to get to the throttle control assembly. Good choice. My question is this, how do you replace the throttle return spring? It appears that everything is fixed. But I’m sure something must come apart to replace the spring. Does...

    Carburetor Choke Shaft

I am new to the Model A world. I decided to tackle rebuilding my Zenith carburetor. I think I did a good job at it except the carburetor choke shaft broke when I was putting the choke arm nut on. I have ordered parts and awaiting their arrival. I haven’t tried taking it apart yet again. My...

    Where next

I have recently acquired a 1928 model A closed cab pick up. It was running about 4 years ago. I can get it to turn over now with a new battery, but won't turn over. Any thoughts on where to go next, carburetor or distributor? just trouble shooting. Will eventually get both fixed up. Thanks.
