    Reproduction Fuel Tanks

Just a short follow up on this. I ended up ordering one of Bob Drake’s tanks. It came in 3 days, was beautifully made, and slipped in from below without difficulty. Kudos to Bob and his staff.

    Reproduction Fuel Tanks

Have any of you had experience with installing a "Tanks, Inc" tank from underneath? Today I removed my original tank after continuing fuel contamination problems...just plain nasty looking inside. Apparently a prior effort at sealing the tank had failed (would have been done in...

    11" clutch with a 3 speed?

I had an 11" clutch on my '37 pickup. It was indestructible. Never noticed any heaviness in operation, just that it refused to wear out.

    Catastrophic crank failure.

    Maybe it was stored horizontally.

    '35 Rear Axle Housings

Pair of '35 rear axle housings (48-4010, 48-4011). Good bearing surfaces. $100 plus shipping for the pair.

Tire truing/shaving at John Worden's shop

Assuming it was a previously used tire and not possible due to age or whatever to return it to the vendor as defective, I agree with you that shaving was a positive solution.

Tire truing/shaving at John Worden's shop

Of course you realize that by shaving a tire all you've done is masked the symptoms of a poor quality tire and, depending on how much shaving was necessary to achieve the roundness it should have had in the first place, reduced the number of miles you can expect to get out of it, right? I...

    Gravity bends a crank?

Hardly news...Molly's known this all along...she's seen straight crankshafts in every position imaginable.

    Comfortable speed

I daily drive my '35 with 3.78 at 65, when safe, allowing extra stopping distance between me and the car in front of me. As has been intimated, the critical element in modern traffic is the ability to stop when you are surrounded by ABS 4-wheel disc-equipped cars that can stop in half the...

    Evans waterless coolant

All Evans does is raise the boiling point. If your engine is in otherwise good running order, but boils over with water, there's something wrong (e.g., cracked block or head, ignition timing way off, blown head gasket, clogged radiator). In such circumstances, Evans would mask the problem and...

    Driveshaft spline worn

Continued use will also wreck the pinion shaft. I ruined an otherwise good 3.54 gear set that way. Don't use it.

    Weiand Cheater Heads

Got it. Didn't know the Wieand heads had the Ford parts number on them. Good to know.

    Weiand Cheater Heads

Actually, mine do say "Made in Canada", and are genuine Ford parts, not Wieand.

    Gear Shift Lever Install

If Chris' approach doesn't work (it should) your next step would be to take the top off the ******, install the shift lever back in the top, at which point you can easily line up the shifter forks. Chris' suggestion should work, however.

    Lucas ethanol fuel additive

I don't know what claims the Lucas product makes, nor how true they are, but I can personally vouch for Stabil 360. I was having constant fuel contamination issues if my car sat in the garage for more than a couple of days. I would get this rust red gunk build up in my fuel filter to the point...
