Replacing Top on 1930 Tudor Sedan

Michael, Be very careful with the epoxy wood preservative materials. Stuff like Get-Rot is very liquid, about like water, and could find its way onto the interior panels. If the outside edge of the wood is in question, use longer fasteners to secure the new top and rain gutters. A good seam...

Bud, Re-read the second half of response #5 posted by Mr. Partain. That is by far the easiest solution to your problem.

    1929 CCPU Top Assembly

Thank you to Rusty and Neil for the comments. I will put the top together as it was originally designed by Ford. No glue.....

    1929 CCPU Top Assembly

I am building a 1929 CCPU and have completed the pieces for the wood top. I am considering putting the wood pieces together on the truck with some glue which would allow me to deal with the top as an assembly instead of individual pieces. Painting the top would be a lot easier as an assembly but...

    Floor Board Dimension Drawing

It should be noted that the floorboards for the earlier Model A's are different due to the location of the emergency brake handle. Battery access is also different.

    CCPU Rear View Mirror

Neil, The procedure that you outline is exactly what I did but I had to compromise on the lower weld as the bottom was not accessible. Poor welds is probably what contributed to so many failures but pushing hard on the screw heads during removal is also a factor.

    CCPU Rear View Mirror

Normally the nut bar is welded inside the forward door post. If, for some reason, those welds fail the nut bar can drop down the door post behind the window escutcheon. In my particular case, the head of one of the 1/4x20 screws had been twisted off leaving the remainder in the nut bar. With...

    CCPU Rear View Mirror

What is the preferred method for removal of the threaded bar that secures the mirror fasteners? I thought that mine was missing but it apparently dropped down when someone removed the sun visor. I would like to remove this little part and recondition it. My top is off and I have open access to...

    29 Tudor front seat question

The front seats on my 1930 Tudor are the same, t.e. they are interchangeable. I do not know for sure but my guess would be that the seats in the 1929 Tudor would also be interchangeable. Making seat LH and RH would add cost which is not what Mr. Ford liked to do.

Use the Aries clamp. It is not cast iron and will not break. Good product. Good value.

1929 closed cab pickup windshield mounting

There are a series of round head machine screws that attach the windshield hinge to the cab header. Wood screws are not used to attach the windshield in the CCPU.
