Thanks guys. I sent a message to Berts, maybe I’ll get lucky. Mine looks as though it was cut out, so I guess maybe someone else had the same problem a decade ago :)
I can try the wanted section, just seemed like something that would be repop.

Apologies if this has been asked endlessly...I have as 30 coupe that is missing the b-pillar door striker housing. I tried Snyder’s with no luck. Anyone aware of a source for this?stock or reproduction, no matter.
Thanks,

Point taken.
Yes this is the same rear end. It seems to have been roughly treated, perhaps with best intentions given that it’s not cheap once one cracks the seals.
My goal of course is to do this correctly and have a safe and reliable banjo for my project. I’m also in no hurry, I’d like to...
Thank guys, some really good information! I think we need a virtual nickel jar here that the newly informed can contribute to a beer fund for the educated. :)
The split does end at the edge, the reflection of the inner hub makes it look a bit like it runs farther than it does, I should have set...
I can see now that my first banjo build will be an adventure! But all good, I get to ask newbie questions and learn something. I pulled the clips, seals, and bearings tonight and found a nice split in what I’m calling the bearing seat (see photo) in one of the two hubs.
I’m going to go out on a...
So, I’m not clear on this. When I think sealer, I generally think blue rtv. Seems reasonable insurance against weeping or other small leaks. What am I missing?

Thanks guys, great information. Happy to hear it might be salvageable, I was already checking out shipping rates for replacements :).
I’ll soak it and look closely for cracks and then use a flat file as suggested.
Points taken also on the test vs final set of gaskets and the light use is...
Another banjo newbie question..
I noticed when pulling my banjo apart that it has been handled roughly at some point. It has some vice marks on the gasket surfaces, and a small area of galling, maybe where a bar was used or something. Not sure what they would have been reefing on. Anyway, I’d...
Thanks, I’ll check them out. My go to otherwise (currently) would be Vanpelt. I had a good experience with them with my trans. But I’m new to Banjos and so happy to hear about good vendors.

Following up in case anyone might want to use this method. It worked pretty slick! the races came out without damage to them as far as I can tell, and it’s free to boot. I only had 1/4 flat stock laying around, and that did work, but bent a bit in the process. For the second I cut a chunk off an...
That’s perfect. Photos help a lot, thank you for your trouble.
I scrounged around the shop and found some bits that I think will work for the job. Too late for grinding in my neighborhood tonight, so I’ll report back. Finally, a use for the 3’ length of model A driveline that’s been kicking...
Thanks for this! I had only briefly considered pressing rather than pulling, and figured it would be a struggle having to run through the bell, then I saw the Ford tool for this, and how narrow the exposed shoulder of the race was and thought I would need a specialty tool. I wasn’t thinking of...
