    Double Nutting advice

To answer your original question, yes, there is a secret to double-nutting, and that is to tighten the nuts against each other so that there is tension between them. That is done by putting a wrench on each nut and turning the lower nut up against the upper (or front) nut. Do not just tighten...

    Exhaust manifold gasket question

The manifold washers are made to provide equal clamping load on the two manifolds, even when they (the tabs on the manifolds) are of unequal thickness. They just tilt a little and will equalize the load from the nut on the stud. This is important to even the compression of the gasket. The...

Model A plus a drone Neat video

Cow path? Cows don't make paths like that. May be a farm lane, but could even be a town road. Everyone does not live in "freeway land". Certainly not in Sweden. :)

    ethanol stripping

Buy ethanol free gas when you can. I buy at least ten gallons a week for my lawn mowers and tractors, and use it in my Model A's whenever I can get it.

    Double AA Lug wrench?

I have a 15" one with no numbers visible on it. I also have a Budd wrench with a number, and different length, which I am guessing is a little later than the AA wrench.

    First car??

My first car was a '48 Kaiser that Grandpa had quit driving when he got a '56 Buick. I used to give the neighborhood kids thrill rides up and down the lanes on Grandpa's farm, which had steep enough hills that I could make it fly if I went over at 55. Our farm was across the road (US 20 in NY)...
