T 5 5 speed VS Mitchell Transmission with overdrive

One thing to note, Ford really didn't want you to downshift, especially not into first unless you were all but stopped. Mine lugs down to 15mph in third and second to below walking speed. They'll both upshift if you give the flywheel a couple seconds to spool down before sliding them into...

    Hershey Haul

Yeah, Friday was strange with a lot of folks packing up before lunch and gone soon afterwards. I did the park side the bridge walking every row. Lots of interesting stuff there but literally too much to pick through every pile looking for gems. Hurt so bad I woke up at 3am needing some...

how long does a sale usually take?

I'd add the service history information. Your description really doesn't say much.

    V8 Clutch for model A

So I assume that the V8 PP would also be easier on the crank trust bearings?

Is this a standard 21" Model A wheel?

Bought one decent set up at Carlisle out of 9 wheels the guy had for $400 last year and one was bent when I got it on the car. Couple other bunches of rusty junk for $80+. Hershey '19 I didn't see any and made it 3/4 of the way through the show. I did end up with a nice radiator and shroud...

Is this a standard 21" Model A wheel?

Good 21" wheels are not cheap or plentiful. They rust in the tube around the rim edge and won't balance when full of rust. BTDT and have 5 or so bad ones and four OK ones on the car.

    B-W woes

I found some good info on vintage auto garage. They have the repair manual for free if you join their mailing list. https://vintageautogarage.com/borg-warner-overdrive/

    I'm not a Model A person

Figure out if it's fuel or spark and troubleshoot the bad circuit. I'm going with fuel because that's about how long the carb bowl will run at idle before it starves for fuel. You got this.

    I'm not a Model A person

There's a learning curve that once you get over it becomes little of an issue. Maybe step back from it for a week or two and reassess. Purdy car and you'll enjoy it once you are comfortable with it.

Added HP for 2nd carb and header?

To expand on what nkaminar said. This is the exhaust on my '29 speedster build. Eventually being fed by a blown B engine. @40" long primaries for @2800 RPM peak torque paired by firing order (1-4,2-3) for even exhaust pulses into an X pipe that will pull a negative pulse on the other upstream...

    Why so many upgrades??

Why so many upgrades? Because these cars were only state of the art for four years. Due to how fast the automotive world was developing they needed some help to stay competitive as daily drivers. Look at the differences between the A and B engines. Ford bumped the HP 25% in '32 by bumping...

Dead A on the side of the road question

Pretty easy to check for spark on these old girls but your arm might go numb. ;)

    High Compression Head Review

I was kind of surprised that while swapping the head I checked the valve travel on mine and most were @ .030" less than original from wear and lash. The seats and valves looked decent. The pistons were wobbling in the bore though. :)

flag poll holders for front bumper ??

Interesting question, but do you run the 50 state flags or 48? I always thought the 48's would look more period correct. :)
