    Running Board Dihlemma

Thank you, Seth, TJ, & Kube. I will try to learn how to post pictures. The overall length is too long by 1/4 inch or so. I couldn't get any info from the eBay seller, Moos. The original boards fit fine & it definitely is a standard model. I'll work on the picture thing & try to research the...

    Running Board Dihlemma

Thanks for all the constructive comments. I couldn't get ahold of the supplier. The boards are at least 1/4" too long. The main concern is that the outside lip is at least 3/8 to 7/16 longer than my originals. I have them shortened but I'm not sure what to do about the lip. I guess cut the board...

    Running Board Dihlemma

I ordered some running boards & covers some time ago. Come to find out, they are about 1/4 of an inch longer than my originals and the outer edge is 'way too long and has a lip on them. I've been trying to get them to the right dimension but it's a struggle. I got them from eBay from a "Moos", I...

    '39 running boards?

I saw some Bob Drake running boards & they seemed really high priced. I found some on eBay & the covers that you can glue on. They are a bunch cheaper. Do any of you know if the glue on kind are okay? I know Drake has quality stuff. Thanks in advance, Rod

    headliners?

Hi guys, and thanks for the replies, especially the levity, really funny. I should have known when my upholsterer said, "Acme, just remember the road runner", that should have been my first clue. Thanks again, Rod

    headliners?

I have a 1939 standard sedan. My upholsterer said to get an Acme headliner. I see that Mac's has them but I can't determine which one I need by the website. So do I need to call them or is there a way to make sure I get the right one? Thanks in advance, Rod

    '39 hood latching problem

Hi guys, Phil. you mentioned a hood clip meeting the horizontal rod. Hood clip?? I guess I'm missing something. Hopefully someone reproduces these hood clips. Can you tell me where it goes? Now I feel like a real dummy. I did see what looked like a clip in a drawing but I couldn't tell...

    '39 hood latching problem

Hi Phil & TJ, Phil, does your hood latch stay "locked" in place against the stop once you latch it? is it secure there? Phil, thanks for the heads up on the Ford book. I think I'll probably need to purchase one of those. Thanks to you both, Rod

    '39 hood latching problem

Hi Phil, and thank you much for the reply. The top part of the latch doesn't stay "tight". I can move it an inch or two & I think it should stay tightly latched against the bottom part of the ornament. Do you know what's wrong? Thanks in advance, Rod

    '39 hood latching problem

Wow, that's scary!! I'm thinking on these '39s the latch should be much more stable & stay firmly latched. I was hoping to find someone on here that had experienced the same problem & had a good fix for it. $15 for a hood, the good old days. :)

    '39 hood latching problem

I have a '39 Standard that I just bought a new Bob Drake hood orn/handle assembly for. The ornament doesn't stay tight against the stop when latched. I haven't driven it yet but I'm guessing this should rest tightly against the stop. I don't know if it's slack in the cam or a spring problem...

    39 Standard hood latch mechanism

My hood ornament/handle doesn't stay against the stop built into the bottom part of the ornament. Is there a way to tighten up the spring in the mechanism that the square part of the handle goes through or do I need to shop for a new one? Thanks in advance, Rod

    '39 Standard hood orn/handle

Hi, I figured out that it's not the top, but where the square on the shaft fits in the hood mechanism. Now I just have to be careful & not take too much off. Thanks, Rod
