Yes they did, I have a 1946 sedan delivery which was a low production number. Less than 2000 made that year & more in 47 & 48. I do see a few at shows & runs but not too many.
Great inspiration, I have most of a basket case 36 pickup sitting and waiting. I am starting on a rebuild of a 53 Merc flathead, hopefully I will live long enough to see one or both of the projects on the road.
An old friend did a 53 F100 rebuild & installed an OD trans from an 86 F100. He did a little messing around with the clutch & since it was a top loadeer looked close to stock, just a different looking shift lever. It liked the highway a lot more after that.
The production for the 1946 sedan delivery was a total of 1,186. I dont have the number for 47 or 48. That has to make any survivors pretty rare. I would love to find one for $500.00 as I have a lot more in mine & it is a pretty good field find.
I got my 34 5 window in the late 70's and on the road late 80's. It's been driven everywhere, west coast, east coast & many places in between. It has all original Henry steel. Sadly it got rear ended two weeks ago & finding original rear fenders & gas tank apron is not looking too promising...
I am interested in an original cover for my 34. If you can, please email some pics of it to rawrench @ aol.com. Any extra descriptions will be appreciated. I live in Denver Colo. zip is 80219 for shipping cost estimates. Thanks, Rick.
Looking for a left rear fender & a gas tank valance for a 34 5 window coupe. The car is all original Ford steel & was hit by an idiot that just didnt see the stop light. Thanks Rick. (303)935 7290
