Anybody modified an ATV/mower snow plow for Model A?

Oh, I’d love a tractor! The wife and I are looking to move out of the city, so it’s not in the cards this year... but someday! I went ahead and tried the plow. The concept worked, but needs improvement. I got to the end of the driveway, but couldn’t reverse back up it. Nearly bald tires in the...

Anybody modified an ATV/mower snow plow for Model A?

I only have a push mower. The leaf blower thing might be a good thing to try though. I’m trying it out. If it works, it works. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t. I love learning and experimenting. Sometimes I’m working 12-14 hour days and my back can’t deal with another hour or two to shovel when I get...

Anybody modified an ATV/mower snow plow for Model A?

Sounds like a much better plan!

Anybody modified an ATV/mower snow plow for Model A?

I’m not thinking any major plowing. Just a couple inches deep, down and up the driveway; before it gets packed down by the other cars driving on it. My Tudor has the AA transmission installed, so I have the super low gearing.

Anybody modified an ATV/mower snow plow for Model A?

In an effort to save my back this year, I bought an ATV snow plow/pusher/blade in hopes to mount it to the Tudor to clear the driveway. The blade came with its original mounting rig. I’d like to see how others have done it. I’ve seen pictures of doodlebugs with plows that are more permanent, but...

AA 4-speed in 30 Tudor... emergency brake rod length?

It appears so. I’m working on dealing with some gremlins inside the handle itself now, but am also trying to figure the linkage out. The car didn’t come with a handle or linkage when I bought it. Shaft was pretty stuck. I’ve already accidentally bent the support brace because everything was so...

AA 4-speed in 30 Tudor... emergency brake rod length?

Now that I have the correct 18 3/4” rod, the transmission case is too fat for the rod to go straight. It’s the right length, but the cross shaft mount point is too far to the drivers side to be straight with where it mounts to the handle. Is there a work-around or an alternative option? Maybe a...

AA 4-speed in 30 Tudor... emergency brake rod length?

Same photos with some different color/light editing for better clarity. Not sure what the “arm” is for, but it’s not in the way. Just curious about it.

AA 4-speed in 30 Tudor... emergency brake rod length?

Thanks, Bob and 1955. That gives me a nice starting point. I used to own an AA with a PTO before I bought this Tudor. The extra piece wasn’t on that one.

AA 4-speed in 30 Tudor... emergency brake rod length?

I bought a 30 Tudor that has a 4-speed transmission installed. I’m wondering if anybody knows what length of rod do I need from the emergency brake handle to the cross shaft (or at least, how do I properly measure it). I remember that it’s roughly around 20 inches. The cross shaft is currently...

    hand brake rebuild

Macs has them on eBay. Look for Model A Ford Emergency Hand Brake Rod Spring, part number 28-22382-1. $1.25 plus shipping. I found one at a hardware store that worked, but at least I had a backup plan!

    Model A Tire Gauge

I just picked up an original gauge. I haven’t tested its accuracy yet. The face looks alright, but the lens is pretty hard to see through. I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering if it’s good sense to replace the lens only? Conversely, is there a proper means to clean up the original...

    My steering box blew up!

I found another box at a junkyard. All is well! Now to make sure the oil is filled all the way. I've been busy day and night all week. Where do I check/fill? I've heard to use SAE 90 or straight STP. I have 90 on hand, so that was my plan. I'm going to work on fixing the old box during the...

    My steering box blew up!

It appears to be a light press cap.

    My steering box blew up!

Ok. Not entirely accurate, however the lower bearing burst out the bottom end of the box... and now I have a 64 Galaxie that is no longer a daily driver. Can I just get a new bearing, set it in place, then tap the cap back on? I didn't see anything that would make me think there's a snap ring...
