    Rear Spring Safety, Tube Shocks

Gas charged shocks ride a bit too stiff in most cases on a car of a model A's weight and spring rate. A good Non-gas shock that works well on the A is the ones made for the older VW bugs (per 66) and even better are the shorter version that have an operating length that is easer to fit in an A...

    Rear Spring Safety, Tube Shocks

Defiantly use a spring spreader if you are going to do any work disconecting the rear spring, and still be very careful. My 31 pick-up has factory shocks that were rebuilt years ago and they ride well and do there job fine. My 31 coupe has modern tube type shocks that ride well and do there job...

Jay Leno law signed by California governor May 16th

It's just a way to start tracking your milage (with it mandated limits) so that they can tax you on it. You don't have to take your car in for a smog check every other year, now you'll go in "every year" and pay someone to verify your milage And it dosen't even start until Jan 2028 ? over a year...

    Timing help, some clarification

I agree with Jim/GA "the timing off" Just went through this with my brother on a new to him 30 roadster. Ran with the same symptoms as yours, all of the same checks and new parts. only thing different was that his is not the modern points like yours. Turns out that the new Nu-Rex wrench when set...

    Copper Head Gasket Position

It works fine both ways (crimp up or down) but better to install it up, for the reasons stated above

    Wheel Balancing Using A Liquid

Years ago I ran into a guy who did that on his daily driver modern car. He used a engine coolent/water mix so that it never froze it the winter. Interesting idea but we used lead weights in the shop to ballance tires so I never reall thought much more about it. Apparently it does work :)

    Toe in

My preference for setting toe in. Been using them for years with great results. Using two tape measures at the same time makes for easy readings and no crawling under the car to read :) Mine are aluminum and have a larger (wider) bottom and I set a weight on it to pervent any movement when...

    glass experience

The shipping on my order from Vancover in Washington State to San Diego was only $53 I thought that was very reasonable considering its size and the packaging needed for glass

https://www.sandersreproglass.com I used these guys when I did my hot rod and stock glass would not work, They have a large library of patterns and most likley you can order what you need from that. For my custom work, I sent the patterns and in 5 days I had a tracking # for the lamanated...

    Drippin' gas line inside

You said stainless line, stainless is a hard material compared to something like copper. As you tighten the nut on the flair it should compress and form the tubing flair to the mating flair fitting forming a seal. I've used stainless on other projects for brake lines and it is a real bear...

    Squeaking Brakes

I would bevel the leading and trailing edges of each shoe. Most all of the time that will fix it, if not try new shoes or linings. As nkaminar said above ,high frequency grabbing or chatter of the break shoes
