    Model A frame differences

There is nothing but rust pits in those areas. No visible numbers at all. Only a part of one single digit on the earlier frame. I got these frames and a trailer load of parts for basically free so I'm not sweating it. I got about $1500 worth or parts for my build out of it so I'm still happy...

    Model A frame differences

I'll be stripping both of these frames for parts. The rails on both are heavily pitted with rust out in some spots. Oddly enough the only rusty parts are the rails. The suspension, steering, brakes ect are all pretty nice and can be saved.

    Model A frame differences

That makes sense. The first frame came out from under a 31 coupe. It was cobbled together so I wasn't sure if it was original to that car or not. Thanks for the info.

    Model A frame differences

More specifically center crossmember differences. I have two frames. While doing some checking on which one to start with I noticing some differences I them besides the obvious differences in brakes ect. Neither frame has numbers visible so I'm lost there. Here are the pics of the center...

Thank you sir. I've restored quite a few cars to factory spec in my career. Some have gone to Pebble Beach and Amelia Island concourse and won top honors. I love doing concourse correct restorations. One day I want to do another full factory correct restoration on another Model A. Until then...

Hey Ken. I think I talked to you a few years ago when I was restoring a 30 Coupe. TJ Wilson gave me your number. Unfortunately I don't have it anymore.

I totally get that and respect what you guys have here. I'm not posting a hot rod build thread or trying to make this forum something it's not. I'm interested in information not readily available on the hot rod forums on restoring a Model A chassis and motor. I'm restoring this chassis using a...

Thanks for the kind words. I didn't think I would get this kind of response but it's ok I guess. I'm just a guy who is in to Model T's and A's stock or modified looking for info on restoring his am chassis correctly.

I wouldn't call it a rat rod by any stretch of the imagination. It's an early period correct hot rod. It will be finished to the highest quality both frame, engine, body and interior. Sorry if this doesn't meet the standards of the board. I'm mainly here to get info on the chassis and motor...

Gow Job is what they called hot rods before the term hot rod was coined. I'm going for something like this. Restored Model A frame pinched slightly for the T body, mostly stock running gear short of a few minor modifications.
