    ignition lock

Even though it's new, that doesn't necessarily mean that it's not defective. Most of the replacement electrical parts for sale today are very poor quality and are often bad right out of the box.The problem you're having is almost certainly a defective starter relay.

2 or 3 speed auto trans?

Ford made the 312 engine available in passenger cars in April of 56 and at the same time changed to the water -cooled FOM.Before April ,neither the 312 or the water-cooled FOM were used in full size cars, only in Birds and Mercurys.

    Free heads

Complete set of C heads and high ratio rockers off of a 56 292.The engine they came off of had good, even compression so they would probably be good to go.They are free to anyone that can and will use them. These belong to a friend of mine and I don't think he would be willing to ship them,so...

    Crown Victoria Association

After my post,I realized that I should have clarified that the Victoria name was used back in the late 20s and early 30s,and not only by Ford.Ford built a Victoria beginning in,I think 30 or 31,until 34.

    Crown Victoria Association

Anyone can bfcome a member of the CVA.Ownership of a vehicle is not a requirement. And to answer the original question......No ,your 53 is not a Crown Victoria, but it is a Victoria.Victoria is the name Ford came up with in 51 when they built their first pillarless 2-door hardtop.

The first few years that Ford put FOMs in pickups, they used a stand-alone cooler, not a radiator cooler.

    Neutral starting switch

I think any of the 60-64 truck switches will work.I used a 61 switch on my 56 car.

    Neutral starting switch

Yes, the 58 switch will work fine.bolt-in replacement. An easier to find( and cheaper)switch is one from an early 60s truck with automatic.

The two top bell housing bolts are actually very easy to remove or replace.Inside the car, pull the carpet/mat back on the tunnel area and you'll find two rubber plugs.Remove the plugs and use an extension and socket through the holes to work on the bolts.
