    No room for more trucks

I had a small cut on the tip of my thumb from my tablesaw blade. I quickly pulled my hand back and before blood filled the notch, I could see the shape of the alternating top-bevel teeth of the blade in the bottom of the notch in the flesh and in my thumb nail. Shaped like a "W". Terry

Fed up with 6 volt on my 53 F600

One of those wires supplies 6 volts to the switch and the other wire feeds that power to the solenoid. That starter switch does not need a ground connection. Terry

    starter button

My '52 F1's solenoid is activated by power from the starter button. I think most solenoids are grounded to activate, but not all of them. Terry

Interesting Flathead Powered Fire Fighting Pumper

Looks like an 8RT truck engine, maybe C1BA (Canadian, eh). The large oil filter is held on with head bolts, which make retorquing the head bolts a pain in the #$%.

    windshield wiper

When I was a youngster with one of my early cars, the wipers quit working, so I tied two pieces of strings onto a wiper arm and threaded the ends of the strings into the cab thru the vent windows. My passenger would pull his string when needed and I would pull the wipers back with my string. It...

Tips on removing old fuel valves in fuel pump

When I removed the valves in mine, I knocked out the center pieces and then ran a tap into it just enough to create threads. You can't get very far in without the end of the tap bottoming out. I then used a homemade slide hammer to pop them out. I used a socket and hammer to put the new ones in...

    FH V8 oil pan

Is your cleanout plate circular? You could loosen just one nut, spin it down a 1/8" and try to push the stud and nut upwards, if they go up they are nut and bolt. Not as original ring with studs that are attached to the ring. I don't think you can remove the oil pump without removing the pan...

    FH V8 oil pan

Do you see the heads of bolts or nuts on the bottom of your inspection plate? Originally there is a circular ring with threaded studs inside the pan with the studs pointing downwards and nuts are placed on from the bottom. If you see the heads of bolts, the ring isn't there, if you see nuts you...

‘42-48 outside rear view mirror install???

Re: ‘42-48 outside rear view mirror install??? The other day, laying under my truck, I had a small cardboard tray with the required, nuts, bolts & washers for the task, it was close by my hip. After placing the first nut/bolt/washer I could not feel the box of parts anymore. After a few moments...
