Thanks so much for your extraordinary effort, Ryan. This oasis of peace and sanity just got the lift we all feel it deserves.

    glass experience

Atch, there's a second-generation hotrodder who just did my '29AA. He's a glazier by profession and does hotrods and other cars on the side. He's just west of you, north of I-70 at about Route 7 out by the Lake City Ordinance Plant. Love his work and his hotrods! Turns out his dad did my rear...

How old is too old to work on Model A's???

I'm 77, been bedridden with some sort of nasty stuff for about two weeks now and the antibiotic I'm on has yet to win the day. Before this latest round I had taken out the transmission on my '29AA and sent it to be rebuilt. Now I'm waiting to get it back but wondering if I'll have the strength...

What did you do today, that was Model A related ?

I ordered a top kit, some window seals and windshield pivot parts to move forward with the '29AA I've been working on for 52 years. I got glass this week and hope to re-assemble and test out the transmission next week, after the school year ends (I'm a substitute teacher). Lots left to do but...

    Can Rod Babbitts be ordered

When I rebuilt my '29 standard coupe's engine in 1968 I ordered four re-babbitted rods from J.C. Whitney after taking the block to be re-babbitted after it was heated up so that a crack in the water jacket could be brazed and sealed. The rods were .010 under and each had a little babbitt...

    Seeking advice

I'm with the "fill with water, check for leaks, drain and re-fill with coolant" crowd. Plain water promotes rust. Coolant slows rust formation and shouldn't freeze. Openings, whether hoses or fittings, allow the critters to sneak in regardless of how small the openings are. I, too, know that...

King pins for Model AA truck

Yes. The axle is heavier in the AA than the A. Same king pins, though.

    AA truck question.

Thank you, Joe K and Neil, for providing the facts! We are so fortunate to have knowledgeable folks in this community that can deliver solid information and teach us these valuable details. Personally I like the dual wheels and know the frames and cantilever springs on these AAs can handle a lot...

    AA truck question.

I don't believe the '28-29s had dual rear wheels, only the '30-31s. A lot depends on the beds behind the cabs on the later models. I'd be interested to hear from those of you out there who know the facts.

    The Pickup Book

The AA express bed isn't two beds welded together, although some have done that. Personally, I like the idea, especially since the tailgate with the embossed Ford logo (small bed) appeals to me. But a true AA bed (ala Walton's '29 AA) is its own animal and is closer to the '26-'27 TT express...

Dash Light for '29 Model A

Seems to me I recall that even if the dash lights for 28-29 are available, they are replacement type and not quite like the originals. Something about the replacement caps not fitting original sockets? I've got an original socket but without the cap so I'll be looking for an original cap come...

    New 29 Coupe

I had a '29 Standard A coupe when I was in college in '68-69. Same color as yours (rattle-canned Rustoleum hunter green). Not a stock color, but in the same vicinity as the stock rock moss green that the original paint color was. I like it so much, I've painted my '29 Model AA that color now...

    Early Model A Pickup Differences

You can get plenty of upper and lower rear panels through several Model A vendors, but I don't think anyone offers the high-window upper panel or the Ford-stamped upper panel. Those are even more rare than an AA express bed, which is basically unobtainium dodo bird's teeth.

Model AA Door Window Trim or TT?

Too many holes for an AA and no trapezoidal slot at the top for the bumpers. TT experts might chime in.

Has anyone ever replaced a 29 lower cowl section on a car?

If you are replacing the cowl panels, just be aware that the panels will come to you flat, without a compound curvature. You'll have to massage them to conform to a concavity that will match up to the original. Also be aware that aftermarket panels will not have a sharp bend at the top and upper...
