    I'm ready!

Cecil, Great looking 50! I will be with a group coming down from western Washington. I also have a 50 tudor, in addition to the coupe, and will look you up at Tahoe. . . Chuck

    Vendor praise[for a change]

Phil, My experience has been the same as yours. These are two companies that are a credit to the old car hobby and should be patronized whenever possible. Kudos to both for being there for us!!! Chuck

    Green Bible question

If I understand you correctly, the Green Bible is a reprint of the 49-51 Service Manual and the book you have is an illustrated parts manual.

    3 spd trans

I believe that you will find the transmission mount on a 51-53 is in a slightly different position than on a 49-50. I believe that you would have to use the crossmember from the 49-50 to do this swap.

American made tires for '34s and Model As?

When I looked at Coker the one's I was interested in were made in Mexico. How about it Alan; where are Coker tires made?

    V8 fan shroud

For the original EAB V8 question; if original appearance is important, are you aware that they made a different fan assembly for the automatic transmission cars? It looks exactly like the std trans assembly but each of the blades is 1/4" wider and the pulley is 1/2" smaller. It made a...

    Newbie with a question!

Recently there was a car seller that had a 53 Ford glasstop. The ad said that it had been "converted". I would guess that there is a better chance that the 53 Merc has been converted using a wrecked 54 than its being a prototype. . . Chuck

    Help Identify This Grill

Just a guess but how about a 68/69 Buick Riviera or Olds Tornado? It seems to me that they had something similar. . .

Early V8 club went on an adventure!

Chris, Looks like you had a great time and nice weather. We, the Cascade RG, will be sort of following your footsteps on June 8th. We are heading down to Joseph, OR. for the Oregon Mountain Cruise. We are spending the first night at Templins In Post Falls, ID., then down 95, around Hells...

    Running straight water

I've used Red Line Water Wetter for the past 5 years and it seems to be doing a good job of preventing corrosion. I change it once a year.

    1950 Ford Bus. Cpe

Sp1ke, I concur, you have a very nice car! I believe, however, that it is a Custom DeLuxe Club Coupe. If it has a back seat, stainless around the front and back windows, and chrome "finials" at both ends of the dash it is a club coupe. It appears to be Dover grey which is a very nice...

    Classic Auto Insurance

Folks, I'm sorry if this is a little off topic but, as we are all getting older, you also might want to consider a AAA membership as part of your "insurance" package. They also provide 100 mile free towing and give me a little piece of mind on long tours. I have had Taylor on my old cars for...

Oil pressure on my 50 Ford

The 50 coupe in my picture is an original (other than wheels & tires) with 15,000 miles. It runs about 35 lbs. at speed and 15 lbs. at idle so your pressures sound good to me. I once drove a 36 that had 15 lbs at speed and about 2 lbs at idle. It scared the heck out of me but it never let me...

    Sad News...AV8Paul

I'm another one of those who never had the pleasure of meeting Paul but felt that I knew him through his posts. His wisdom and friendship will be greatly missed. As others have mentioned, we seem to be losing a lot of great guys. I am, however, heartened to see Old Ron back and posting. .

    NJ DMV versus AACA Judges

Your problem reminds me of when I lived in Massachusetts (born there). Everytime I went to the Dept of Registry it was a hassle. It seemed like they went out of their way to create a problem. I've lived in Washington State for the last 20 years and it's a pleasant change. We have a correct...
