I’m a fan of the W small block Ford, I have a verified 455 hp 292 cubic inch 289 in my 64 Fairlane 500 two door sedan. The car is my summer daily driver plus it will hit the strip every once in awhile.
I’m also a fan of the big block Mopars, I’ve built 413s 426 wedges and my personal favorite is the 440 for the simple reason of cubic inch’s, the largest being 500” and 650 hp with factory 915 heads. I built this in 1991 and it is still going strong. Up until October 25 I had access to a friends dyno and putting different combinations together and being in on different combinations was one of my favorite things to do.
I’ve done very mild 220 hp W Fords to over 500 hp W Fords, I’ve got a 520 hp 545 tq smog low compression 440 that’s had every cam I could throw at it in but these are the numbers for a mild solid flat tappet…. Like I said it’s just something I enjoy.
