Thanks. I was afraid of that. Do you think if I could find a 39 to 41 221 crank I could have the mains ground from the 2.5 to the earlier 2.4? The rod journal diameter is the same. And the stroke is the same. Or do you think I'm off base here? .

I purchased a 1938 ford flathead to run in my 40 sedan. I was unaware the crankshaft was lengthened in 39 to account for the hub with the fan. Does anyone have any idea how to use the 40 hub on the earlier crankshaft? Thanks Dave
