What do you think - Running Board Step Plates Yes/No

The step plates are stronger than rubber. In the old days it was common to see a round wear mark at the step spot. I can step over the entire running board, so I don't need them. Although, my wife is small and needs the running board to enter the cabin. Therefore I see the steps as a good...

    door lock philosophy

The old movies and my grandfather have verified what the others are saying about the locks and curb side entry and exit. I wondered why also.

    Fuel Gauge Project

When installing just test fit it first as you may need to bend the float wire to calibrate it. Remove the fuel fill screen and use another wire bent as a hook to grab the float wire and gently pull it to yhe top of the tank. It should read full. This will give near one gallon left when it reads...

    Pushing Coolant Out The Overflow

Three blade impeller rebuild sounds good to start. Do you have a new style cored radiator, or the original style. The thermostat, if you decide to install, is available in a 160 or 180 degree.

    Ammeter Hook up confusion

As verification for the above, I just replaced my junction box and replaced dash wiring. It was done as above and I had to reverse my wires at the ammeter from the per spec diagram. This was done as Tom above and others have pointed out. There have been several posts on other threads about...

    Water pump impeller cut down

The original "A" water pump made a flow rate of 38 gallons per minute. With a new style core radiator it works just fine. My "A" has no overheat issues even cruising in 95 degree weather up long grades. An old airplane trick is to turn up the carb mixture knob (richer) when climbing, as...

    Testing a coil

If it's bad, you'll get a weak spark or no spark at all. Replace it. On a coil that tests OK, it still may need replacement. I had a coil that worked flawless when cold. When warm it partially grounded out due to a nearly invisible hairline crack at the tower which the rubber coil wire boot...

    Turn signals with hidden switch

This one looks great if you are upgrading to LED taillight lenses or bulbs. No need to add any additional rear turn signal lights as you can use your standard rear duolamp housings with LED lights inserted as standard tail, stop and turn, (great brightness for daytime driving.) LEDs use much...

    What’s the future of (T’s) and (A’s)

Re: What’s the future of (T’s) and (A’s) I concur with this 100%. Working on the classics is part of the hobby/ownership fun. It is also needed to understand the vehicle well. Personally I appreciate learning from guys like Purdy Swoft, Tom Wessenberg, Ray Horton 700RPM, Brent in 10-uh-C...
