    Distilled water

T What's the old saying "opinions are like rear ends, everybody's got one"? Why not do it like most manufacturers recommend? 50/50 anti-freeze and distilled water and NOT pure water or pure anti-freeze. Ned

    1929 Ford Roadster Pickup

This discussion reminds me of the discussion between two French philosophers: "Yes, I know it works, but does it work in theory!"

rust in 29 coupe gas tank

The tank comes out below the windshield, which stays in place. For '28-'29's it's easy to remove; simply remove the fasteners, steering wheel clamp and fuel lines (the shut-off can remain) and connections to the instrument panel, the hood and supports. Make sure all of the fasteners are off...

    Charlie Price Vintage Speed

I've never done business with Charlie but have watched his videos on Stromberg 97 rebuilding. They're great and Charlie seems to know his stuff. I'm told that it may be best to order from him via Ebay since they seem to be effective on policing their clients. Ned

    Project ford G48 from russia

Welcome. I wonder why the front axle is elevated. Is it four wheel drive? Was it left by the German Army after WW2?

Passing of Dear Friend Jim Langley

I was stationed at Fort Benning from '83 to '86 with my '29 roadster. Sounds like he was a great guy. Wish I could have met him. Peace brother. US Army Vietnam '69-'70

    Wood Block Question 31 CCP

Not sure what to tell you. I assume that you bought the blocks from a reputable dealer and have a diagram showing where they go, and that you have the proper blocks at the proper locations. And they fit snugly into the body sills and aren't cross ways from the sills. And your frame isn't bent...

    Wood Block Question 31 CCP

I just went into the garage and had a look at my full fendered '29 CCPU. It looks like w/o splash aprons 1" or so (maybe slightly less) might be normal, but since mine has splash aprons, it seems less and isn't noticeable. Sanding or otherwise altering the blocks will affect how the body fits...

    Engine stumbles on acceleration

My advice: lose the Tillotson. I finally took mine off after 4 years of messing with it (leaked from warpage which was dangerous and not fixable) and replaced it with a Zenith. Very happy now.

    Carburetor leak

I just fixed the carb leak on my PU yesterday. It's got a Zenith. It looked like a leak from around the float bowel so I ASSUMED (and we all know what that does) that the float was set too high (I had measured it before installing, so was flummoxed) so gas leaked around the seal. After first...

    Aristocrat accessory dash

"Very old reproduction stock from the '80's"! Wait a minute, they aren't that old! Neat looking though. I suppose an oil pressure gauge isn't all that useful is it?
